The Day Tape concept was developed by Emit Snake-Beings & Dan Eemonk/Spider Monkee Powell. The rules are you have one whole day (or however long you can stay awake) to write, record, mix, master and make artwork for a cassette release.

The Day Tape Challenge occurred on ../../98 at Klingers Pantry on Duncan St, Dunedin, where Jon, Dan & I were living. In 2 downstairs rooms & one upstairs on top room we each made a complete and finished solo album on that day. Iso-12 came round to help Dan with his one. Loud sounds such as Jon's amplified announcements, Dan's screaching and Iso's doof bled through the walls and on to each others recordings. We all stopped work to watch a NPC rugby final that Otago won that afternoon. It was a wonderful day.

The three cassettes were released by stabbiesetc as a box set and were titled:
1. Fluffy Blood by Eemonk.
2. Brian The Whore by Sugar Jon.
3. I'll Trade You This Beer For An Egg I Didn't Already Have by Stefan %$#@! Neville.
