SCUD came from Morrinsville except for Christian who was from Horotiu. They weren't around very long. They maybe only played one gig (Did you ever play a second?) at Ward Lane in Hamilton with my band Armice Pumb Pit. We thought we were loud and noisy and stupid but SCUD were way louder and noisier and the stupidist. They were younger and more handsome than us, they were healthy & had better equipment. I thought they would be huge.
Michael Miller presented bands with ball point pens when they played in Hamilton. The more pens, the better he thought you were and he gave SCUD a whole massive hand full that night! Thats why Christian starts singing Mikes song "Rachel Under The Waterfall" during "My name is Scud"
We released a split 10" lathe on Plop Records from recordings of that gig. The SCUD side is included here. The rest of this is from a recently recovered practice tape.
"The Strong Taste of Real Fear" was released on a Hamilton compilation cassette called NICE. It got sampled on the International Tall Dwarfs album STUMPY, but they credited it to CJA by mistake.
These guys were all in heaps of other cool bands too. This stuff doesn't do them justice blah blah.
Hi SCUD! I miss you guys. Is it OK posting this here? What are these other songs called?
